Job Description

Overview

The Sevier County School Based Mental Health Liaison at Helen Ross McNabb Center provides direct mental health services within the Sevier County school system. This role involves working closely with teachers, families, and students to promote healthy learning environments and support children at risk of emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling
  • Conduct mental health assessments and evaluations
  • Participate in IEP and school-related meetings
  • Provide training and education to teachers and school staff
  • Maintain HRMC and CARF documentation standards
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation
  • Meet all productivity standards with active therapy caseload
  • Demonstrate and maintain a positive work climate

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in a human services field
  • Two years' experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems
  • Experience leading groups and training
  • Knowledge in cultural diversity, human development, and treatment of mental illness
  • Ability to counsel children and families effectively
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills for email and documentation
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license
