This role functions as a collaborative team member, working alongside other attorneys in settlement execution, attorney-facing communication, and benefits-related coordination. The role requires strong drafting skills, the ability to prioritize shifting deadlines, and a proactive mindset, with increasing independence and autonomy as experience develops.This is an execution-focused position, not a litigation role, for an attorney who can anticipate challenges, balance immediate settlement needs with long-term client protection, and deliver clear, defensible work while guiding complex settlement matters to completion.Roles & ResponsibilitiesIn this role, we expect you to be capable of operating within established legal and operational guardrails. You will step in where nuance, complexity, or legal judgment calls for experienced attorney involvement. The position combines hands-on legal execution with direct coordination with attorneys and other external stakeholders, with a focus on advancing settlement matters efficiently while protecting client interests.Internal Responsibilities:Draft, review, and finalize case releases, court order language, and other materials requiring court approvalReview and refine attorney-facing correspondence to ensure clarity, accuracy, and defensibilityAct as the internal authority on SSI and SSD benefits considerations related to settlementsConduct focused legal research on complex or emerging issues and provide practical guidanceAssist in resolving complex settlement matters involving trusts, structured settlements, health insurer reimbursement rights, and other financial solutionsExternal Responsibilities:Communicate directly with insurance carrier counsel and representatives to advance matters and resolve issuesAdvocate for clear expectations and appropriate outcomes that protect client interestsManage escalated attorney-to-attorney communications with professionalism and follow-throughThis role is not tied to a fixed portfolio of accounts. Instead, you will contribute to the firm across all matters where legal complexity, risk considerations, or settlement structure require experienced legal judgment.
