Job Description

Overview

AmeriGas is seeking a customer-focused and safety-minded Service Technician for their Rock Falls, Illinois location. The role involves installing and repairing propane tanks for both residential and commercial customers while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and high standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely operate a propane service vehicle along provided service routes
  • Perform repairs on existing propane tanks for commercial and residential customers
  • Install new propane tanks and systems for customers
  • Occasionally perform Delivery Representative functions, including delivering propane
  • Adhere to federal and state codes as well as AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies
  • Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment consistently
  • Work 8 to 12-hour shifts as needed

Required skills

  • Valid class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Completion of a DOT physical, drug test, and background check
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs
