Job Description

Overview

The Service Technician BTR at BH is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of physical assets across multiple properties. This role includes general maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, and assisting with construction or rehabilitation projects, ensuring customer satisfaction while managing service requests effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Schedule and prioritize service requests with assistance from management.
  • Repair or replace apartment materials in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Monitor service request completion to minimize callbacks and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and document preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist with move in/move out reports and inventory management.
  • Respond to resident requests and hazardous conditions in a timely manner.
  • Share on-call responsibilities and assist in identifying community hazards.

Required skills

  • Minimum one year of general maintenance experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local maintenance codes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks
  • HVAC certification or ability to obtain EPA Certification
  • Must provide own hand tools and travel to multiple locations
