Overview

Western Pacific Enterprises is seeking a motivated and experienced Service Electrician to join their Special Projects, Service & Maintenance District in Surrey, British Columbia. This role is perfect for someone looking to advance their electrical career while working independently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. A successful candidate will contribute to various electrical projects and maintain strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems efficiently and safely
  • Install and maintain electrical systems including fire alarm systems, electrical distribution, HVAC, and lighting control systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls and after-hours callouts as required
  • Perform site visits and assess client needs
  • Prepare small estimates and quotes
  • Manage and complete work orders accurately and on time
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams
  • Actively pursue and develop new service opportunities and client relationships
  • Lead small projects and oversee small crews when required
  • Mentor and train apprentices
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and electrical code requirements

Required skills

  • Certified Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Journeyperson
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Service Electrician role
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • FSR certification (an asset)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
  • Professional, client-focused attitude
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including occasional after-hours callouts
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town when required
  • Ability to pass background/security clearances for client sites
