Job Description

Overview

The Service & Assembly Technician for Welding Systems will perform field service work, including equipment installation and troubleshooting of iDEAL Welding System equipment at customer locations and in-house. After completing training in Germany, the technician will be based in Rockford, Illinois, providing technical support and training to customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform field service work in mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Install equipment and set it into operation at customer locations
  • Provide customer training on the use of welding systems
  • Conduct service evaluations and troubleshoot remotely
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Support various departments as needed, including Service, Machine Sales, and Parts Sales

Required skills

  • Technical qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Technology
  • Initial experience in resistance welding (preferred but not required)
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience with electronics and PLC programming
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
