Job Description

Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 for the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team within the SET Specialty Engineering directorate, primarily supporting the Sentinel program. The role requires managing a team of 30-40 engineers and ensuring the successful execution of technical tasks related to EMI, EMC, and Spectrum Management.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day program execution of the E3 Specialty Engineering Team.
  • Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Specialty Engineering.
  • Communicate effectively and report status and progress metrics to support Program Management reviews.
  • Provide guidance on program execution for E3 sub-teams including EMI Test Support and E3 Design Support.
  • Develop and support consistent execution of standard practices, methods, software, and tools across the E3 team.
  • Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with technical leaders.
  • Oversee the E3 team schedule and planning in support of system design reviews and materials development.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree and 6 years of experience
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule and performance on government technical statements of work.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and as an EVMS Control Account Manager.
  • Ability to lead technical teams in a complex system of systems environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership experience in a formal management position leading a team of engineers.
