Job Description

Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 for the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team within the SET Specialty Engineering directorate. The role involves overseeing a team of 30-40 engineers as they execute technical tasks related to EMI, EMC, ESD, Spectrum Management, and TEMPEST for the Sentinel program. Candidates must have systems engineering expertise and the ability to manage program execution while collaborating closely with various teams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day program execution of the E3 Specialty Engineering Team
  • Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) responsibilities as delegated
  • Report status and progress metrics to support Program Management reviews
  • Guide program execution for E3 sub-teams including testing and design support
  • Develop standard practices and methods for the E3 team
  • Forecast engineering resources and establish performance goals
  • Oversee the E3 team schedule and planning

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM discipline
  • 8+ years of related experience or 6 years with a master's degree
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Experience managing government technical statements of work
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems and serving as CAM
  • Milestone planning and execution experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage customer relationships and build consensus
  • Experience with engineering leadership in acquisition and design
  • Proficiency in Confluence, Jira, or equivalent agile programs
