Overview

The Senior Wind Technician at GE Vernova plays a vital role in maintaining optimal function and output at wind sites. This position focuses on turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs, requiring local travel within the hub to meet customer contract requirements efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute contractual obligations as per customer requirements
  • Perform troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of wind turbines
  • Read and explain schematics, technical manuals, and procedures
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting
  • Mentor peers and support site operations as directed by the manager
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety processes and regulations

Required skills

  • 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience
  • 1+ year in an EHS, SQC, or Lead role
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
  • Capable of handling 50 lbs and climbing towers up to 300 feet
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience using hydraulic power tools
  • Wind turbine experience
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or related fields
