This hybrid role entails serving as a legal advisor on real estate title insurance matters, providing underwriting guidance, risk analysis, and transactional support to internal teams, agents, and customers. Ideal for a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in title insurance underwriting and real estate law.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization related to title insurance commitments and policies
  • Utilize underwriting standards within delegated authority limits to issue title insurance
  • Guide company personnel in real estate settlement services
  • Prepare and present educational content for personnel, agents, and customers
  • Manage diverse pipeline of real estate transactions while applying underwriting standards

Required skills

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Bar Admission in New York
  • 8-10 years of experience in title insurance underwriting
  • Knowledge of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance
  • Understanding of federal and state real estate law and regulations
  • Strong relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment
