Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Tooling Engineer at Saab in West Lafayette, IN, you will contribute to the manufacturing of the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft. This role involves providing technical tooling support through design, preparation, documentation, and verification, while promoting efficient production systems based on Lean principles.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of production systems and working methods
  • Develop new technical solutions for production systems and assembly lines
  • Ensure accurate and timely tooling resources for operations
  • Drive continuous improvement for tooling processes
  • Work collaboratively with Swedish tooling resources
  • Support core Company values and maintain a people-first culture

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant tooling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years of relevant tooling experience and Aerostructures experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Catia or SolidWorks modeling skills desirable
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
