Overview

The Senior Title Underwriting Counsel position at bizjobz LLC in Tarrytown, NY, offers a high-impact legal leadership role within their Agency Division. As a trusted legal advisor in title insurance and commercial real estate, you will provide strategic underwriting guidance and risk analysis, collaborating with internal teams and clients on complex real estate transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting counsel and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies
  • Evaluate risk and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority
  • Advise on real estate settlement services and transactional matters
  • Develop and deliver training and educational presentations to internal teams and clients
  • Partner cross-functionally to support a high-volume, complex transaction pipeline

Required skills

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active NY Bar admission
  • 7-15 years of commercial title underwriting or related commercial real estate experience
  • Strong command of NY real estate law, title, and settlement processes
  • Proven ability to assess risk and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with sound judgment and attention to detail
