Overview

The Senior Title Underwriting Counsel will play a pivotal role in a leading title insurance and escrow services company, serving as a trusted advisor on high-value commercial transactions. This position offers the opportunity to influence deals and guide stakeholders while working in a collaborative and solutions-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a go-to legal expert on complex title insurance matters
  • Evaluate risk and deliver clear, practical underwriting guidance
  • Approve and authorize title insurance commitments and policies
  • Partner with internal teams and agents to drive successful closings
  • Develop and refine underwriting standards and best practices
  • Share expertise through training and thought leadership

Required skills

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Connecticut Bar admission
  • 5+ years of title underwriting or commercial real estate law experience
  • Strong command of real estate transactions, title, and regulatory frameworks
  • Exceptional communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with ability to navigate complex deals
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-level transactions simultaneously
