Job Description

Overview

Chugiak Aquatics Club is seeking a Senior Swim Coach to lead and develop its swimming program primarily for high school athletes. The role involves designing training plans, fostering a safe and positive environment, and managing various team aspects, while also engaging with the community and promoting the sport.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training program focusing on athlete safety and growth
  • Plan and oversee practices, meets, and team events
  • Establish individual performance goals aligned with the organization's mission
  • Communicate positively with athletes, parents, and fellow staff
  • Coordinate meet logistics and maintain attendance records
  • Attend and actively coach at all assigned meets
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications and follow safety protocols

Required skills

  • Expertise in stroke mechanics and training principles
  • Experience as a collegiate competitive swimmer preferred
  • 2 years of competitive coaching experience preferred
  • USA Swimming Coach Credential and Lifeguarding certification required
  • Willingness to become a Certified Pool Operator
