Job Description

Overview

Metromont is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a PE certification to join their team in Bartow, Florida. This role involves leading complex engineering projects in the precast concrete industry and providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and design for products and connections
  • Conduct lateral analysis and design independently
  • Lead project teams and manage engineering design aspects with minimal guidance
  • Review and ensure adherence to contract documents and project requirements
  • Attend and lead project and coordination meetings
  • Write and review complex RFIs and resolve design issues
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions among engineers and subcontractors
  • Check engineering design calculations and documents for accuracy and standards adherence
  • Participate in pre-sale engineering design processes
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations

Required skills

  • BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
  • PE Certification required
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience with precast concrete engineering design preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in engineering design software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
