Overview

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer - Mobile (Android) at Capital One Canada, you will play a pivotal role in developing technology solutions that align with business goals. With no direct reports, you will focus on hands-on development, technical design, and architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices are upheld in architecture and design.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and drive technical strategy for complex Android platform needs.
  • Provide hands-on engineering guidance for successful project execution.
  • Act as a thought leader influencing architectural roadmaps across the organization.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and senior technical leaders.
  • Engage in dynamic collaboration with business partners to create sound business architectures.
  • Design scalable and secure solution architectures.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of hands-on development of Native Android applications using Java/Kotlin.
  • Experience with application design and technical architecture.
  • Proficient in RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins.
  • Experience leading and mentoring Junior, Intermediate, and Senior associates.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud products.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
