Overview

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Canada, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating the creation of technology solutions that align with the company’s business goals. Your responsibilities will involve designing scalable and secure architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and engaging in the development of innovative solutions that adhere to architectural and security standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement architectural solutions that align with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain a catalog of technical and business capabilities.
  • Lead the creation and review of Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and High-Level Design (HLD) documents.
  • Participate in governance forums to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote technology strategies.
  • Mentor and lead teams in adopting architectural best practices.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture.
  • 2+ years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certification in TOGAF, AWS, or other relevant frameworks.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large organizations.
  • Experience architecting and delivering scalable systems in regulated environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate).
