Overview

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Canada, you'll play a crucial role in orchestrating technology solutions that align with business goals. You'll collaborate dynamically with cross-functional teams to design scalable and secure architectures, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to architectural standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement architectural solutions aligned with business goals
  • Develop and maintain a technical and business capabilities catalog
  • Lead the creation and review of Architectural Decision Records and High-Level Design documents
  • Participate in governance forums to ensure compliance with standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote technology strategies
  • Mentor teams on architectural best practices and continuous improvement

Required skills

  • At least 8 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture
  • At least 2 years of experience in creating solutions architectures in a public cloud
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Diploma in relevant fields
  • Certification in TOGAF, AWS, or other architectural frameworks
  • Experience in large/complex organizations as a Solutions Architect
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical depth across organizations
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as HIPAA or PCI
