Job Description

Overview

Accurate Group, a leader in technology-driven appraisal management and title services, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their expanding accounting department. This role involves supporting various accounting functions, including tax compliance, financial analysis, and operational control, while working closely with the Accounting Manager on special projects and audits.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including recurring entries and intercompany allocations
  • Manage fixed assets transactions and maintain current inventory
  • Handle monthly tax obligations such as excise, sales, and CAT taxes
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly accruals
  • Assist with annual audits and track T&E for annual tax provision
  • Engage in miscellaneous projects as needed
  • Cross-train in accounts payable and financial close related tasks

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Great Plains Software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Project management experience, specifically in accounting system conversion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical skills for financial reports and legal documents
