Job Description

Overview

Komar Industries, a leader in the waste equipment industry, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their Accounting Team in Groveport, Ohio. This role involves analyzing financial information and carrying out various accounting duties to ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with relevant principles and policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts in line with departmental deadlines
  • Enter transactions into the general and operating ledger accurately and timely
  • Analyze and audit transactions and general ledger statements for accuracy
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Respond to departmental inquiries related to budgets and expenditures
  • Identify accounting corrections
  • Run daily reports to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions
  • Assist in preparing year-end and interim financial reports
  • Assist with capitalizing fixed assets, write-offs, and other updates
  • Support internal and external auditors during fiscal year-end procedures
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed
  • Maintain supporting Excel schedules
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed to support the team

Required skills

  • 3-5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • BA in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of debits and credits
  • Experience using NetSuite or other ERP system
  • Experience with creating journal entries
  • Understanding of general ledgers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access (advanced Excel skills preferred)
  • Understanding of processes and data behind financial metrics
