Job Description

Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant role at an Industry-Leading Organization in St. Louis offers a chance for significant professional growth within the accounting and finance team. The position requires strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to manage complex financial responsibilities as the organization expands its operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Perform account reconciliations and account analysis
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Analyze financial information and research variances
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting efforts
  • Assist with audit preparation and external auditor requests
  • Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts
  • Support fixed asset, accrual, and prepaid accounting activities
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and additional finance responsibilities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Strong Excel skills
  • ERP/accounting software experience
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Public accounting experience (preferred)
  • Audit exposure (preferred)
  • Financial analysis experience (preferred)
  • Budgeting and forecasting support (preferred)
  • CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply
