Job Description

Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant at Concept Machine plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP. Located in Plymouth, Minnesota, this position involves general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and tax compliance, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries; maintain general ledger data.
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and prepare accruals.
  • Contribute to the monthly closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Review monthly activity for proper categorization and coding in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reconcile key accounts monthly and perform trend analysis.
  • Manage the company's credit card platform, including user administration and transaction review.
  • Calculate and record monthly sales commissions, coordinating with service and sales teams.
  • Analyze contracts to determine proper billing schedules.
  • Act as a technical accounting resource for complex transactions.
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate tax filings.
  • Participate in special projects and analyses as assigned.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and regulations
  • CPA certification (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years in public accounting
  • Strong business system skills: ERP & Excel required
  • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 and/or analytics tools (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
