Job Description

Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist in Manufacturing Engineering to enhance its WPB Assembly team in West Palm Beach, Florida. The role involves developing and optimizing assembly processes to ensure efficient production of high-quality products while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve process-related challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure proper functionality during product assembly and builds
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve process-related issues
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure complex assemblies are delivered on time
  • Maintain process documentation including work instructions and SOPs
  • Optimize production workflows and layouts to enhance productivity
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tooling for manufacturing
  • Provide training and support to production staff on new processes
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using lean and Six Sigma tools

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or 4 years with a graduate degree, or 10 years in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in assembly of RL10/RS-25 rocket engines preferred
  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team working ability
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
