Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Software Security Engineer to join its Software Security Sensors and Effectors (S3E) Department in Tucson, AZ. This role focuses on developing software for missile systems, requiring expertise in real-time software design, System Security principles, and experience with programming languages such as C and C++. Candidates must possess the ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance and be U.S. citizens.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop applications for missile software systems using C and C++.
  • Design and implement real-time software while considering security implications.
  • Integrate and test embedded software for missile systems.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Security Engineering team to define requirements.
  • Review technical designs and ensure system maturity through customer interaction.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant software experience
  • Proficiency in C and C++
  • Experience with embedded processors like Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC or Versal
  • Familiarity with embedded operating systems such as VxWorks or Embedded Linux
  • Knowledge of system security principles
  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments
  • Familiarity with security-relevant tools for auditing and policy management
  • Additional experience in low-level memory drivers and inter-processor communication
