Overview

The Senior Software Engineering Manager at Capital One Travel Tech will lead and inspire multiple teams of software engineers to build innovative travel solutions while also engaging in hands-on development. This role involves contributing to a travel portal that addresses real customer needs and enhances overall user experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 2+ teams of engineers to develop solutions to reduce fraud and improve customer experience
  • Engage in talent and succession planning, encouraging innovation and diversity within the teams
  • Oversee the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of applications
  • Stay updated on tech trends and mentor team members in technology communities

Required skills

  • At least 4 years of experience leading teams in an agile environment
  • At least 4 years of experience in talent development, performance management, and team building
  • 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including CI/CD and system resiliency
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or another cloud service
  • Full stack software development experience
  • Experience in financial/tech industry
