Overview

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Capital One Travel Tech, you will lead and inspire a team of engineers in developing a travel portal that addresses customer needs from trip planning to booking. This role involves hands-on coding alongside managing teams to deliver innovative products while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 2+ teams of engineers to build solutions that reduce fraud and enhance customer experience
  • Participate in talent and succession planning, and encourage innovation within the teams
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of applications
  • Stay updated on tech trends and mentor other engineers in the community
  • Influence senior business and product stakeholders on strategy and roadmaps

Required skills

  • At least 4 years of experience leading teams in an agile environment
  • 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including security, automated testing, and CI/CD
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or similar cloud services
  • Full stack software development experience
  • Experience in financial/tech industry is preferred
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
