Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an experienced Senior Silviculture Forester for its Grande Prairie Timberlands team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This role focuses on leading silvicultural projects with an emphasis on sustainability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while supporting the company’s commitment to environmental performance and operational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and own assigned silviculture programs from planning through execution
  • Collaborate with site leadership and regional partners to support silviculture strategy
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure safe execution in a contractor-heavy environment
  • Interpret performance trends and utilize data to drive continuous improvement
  • Build relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and stakeholders

Required skills

  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligibility for registration in Alberta
  • Experience in leading silviculture programs with accountability for performance outcomes
  • Strong understanding of silviculture data management and interpretation
  • Problem-solving and prioritization skills in fast-moving operational settings
  • Strong communication skills to work with various stakeholders
