Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an experienced Senior Silviculture Forester to join their team in Campbell River, BC. The candidate will play a crucial role in leading silvicultural projects, ensuring sustainable forest practices, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve long-term operational goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with site leadership to support silviculture strategy and execution.
  • Own assigned silviculture programs from planning through execution, ensuring accountability for cost control and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the evolution of a data-driven silviculture system with effective data management and trend analysis.
  • Manage contractors by setting expectations and ensuring safe execution in a contractor-heavy environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Required skills

  • Experience leading silviculture programs with accountability in planning and execution
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligibility for registration in Alberta
  • Strong understanding of silviculture data and information systems
  • Ability to solve complex problems and adapt in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills and credibility with stakeholders
