Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Senior Silviculture Forester to join their team in Grande Prairie, AB. This role focuses on leading silvicultural projects, ensuring accountability for program execution, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support sustainability practices in forest management. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of creativity and science while driving continuous improvement in forest productivity.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site leadership to support silviculture strategy and execution
  • Own assigned silviculture programs from planning through execution
  • Lead data-driven silviculture initiatives and ensure high-quality data management
  • Manage contractors and internal teams for consistent execution
  • Build relationships with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members

Required skills

  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligibility for registration in Alberta
  • Experience leading silviculture programs with accountability for results
  • Strong understanding of silviculture data management and application
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt in fast-moving environments
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders
