Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Senior Silviculture Forester to join their Grande Prairie Timberlands team in Aiyansh, British Columbia. The role focuses on leading silvicultural projects with an emphasis on sustainability and accountability while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment that supports both individual and organizational growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategically partner with site leadership to support silviculture strategy and execution.
  • Own assigned silviculture programs from planning through execution, ensuring cost control and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead data-driven silviculture efforts by managing data quality and interpreting performance trends.
  • Manage contractors and internal team performance, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Required skills

  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligibility for registration in Alberta
  • Experience leading silviculture programs with a focus on budget and regulatory compliance
  • Strong data management and performance interpretation skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and credibility with stakeholders
