Overview

Takeda Pharmaceutical is seeking a Senior Scientist specialized in High-Throughput Mass Spectrometry (Automation) to support their Lab of the Future initiative in Cambridge, MA. This role is crucial for designing, miniaturizing, and executing bioanalytical assays on automated platforms, ensuring high-quality data generation to enhance drug discovery processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and validate bioanalytical assays for small and large molecules.
  • Drive assay miniaturization to high-throughput formats (384- and 1,536-well).
  • Implement statistical methodologies to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Execute DMTA lead profiling assays for both molecule types.
  • Adapt bioanalytical assays to high-throughput MS platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DMPK, medicinal chemistry, and data sciences to interpret bioanalytical data.
  • Contribute to the integration of instrumentation with digital data systems.

Required skills

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline with at least 2+ years of in
  • Expertise in high-throughput mass spectrometry platforms (e.g., Acoustic MS, RapidFire MS, MALDI-MS).
  • Experience with DMTA workflows and bioanalytical assay development.
  • Knowledge of integrated HTS automation systems and robotic platforms.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software, LIMS/ELN, and data pipeline tools.
  • Proficient in MS data analysis tools and software, scripting languages like Python or R is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
