Overview

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist in Delivery Biology to enhance targeted delivery strategies for siRNA-based therapeutics. This role involves mechanistic cell biology to improve delivery across various tissues and cell types, emphasizing expertise in vesicular trafficking and collaboration within the research department.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and apply assays and experimental strategies to interrogate trafficking biology
  • Design, execute, and interpret cell-based assays to evaluate delivery efficiency and biological outcomes
  • Identify cell types or tissues that require novel or optimized delivery approaches
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners to expand targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues
  • Communicate data, conclusions, and experimental rationale to team members and leadership
  • Mentor and support the scientific development of junior scientists or research associates

Required skills

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in biopharma setting
  • Strong expertise in cell biology, particularly intracellular trafficking and receptor biology
  • Experience in microscopy and biochemical techniques related to cell-based studies
  • Experience designing and interpreting in vitro and in vivo experiments
  • Experience with ligand-based delivery, conjugates, or receptor biology preferred
  • Demonstrated scientific rigor, attention to detail, and data reproducibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
