Overview

Phoenix Staff is seeking a Senior Salesforce Consultant/Developer on a part-time contract basis to support a large-scale scholarship management program. The role involves assessing and improving an existing Salesforce environment, providing technical guidance, and delivering enhancements to the platform to better serve thousands of student applicants annually.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and assess the current Salesforce architecture, customizations, automations, and workflows
  • Identify system gaps, technical debt, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Design and develop scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with business goals
  • Build and improve automations, workflows, integrations, and custom functionality
  • Support AI-enabled filtering and workflow optimization initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve existing platform issues
  • Provide consultative guidance and best practice recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate directly with leadership and end users to understand operational needs
  • Document recommendations and technical solutions as needed

Required skills

  • Extensive experience as a Salesforce Developer and/or Consultant
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apex
  • Experience with Lightning Components / LWC
  • Experience with Salesforce Flow
  • API integrations
  • Custom objects and automation
  • Proven experience reviewing and improving existing Salesforce implementations
  • Ability to work independently in loosely defined or evolving environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience acting as a trusted advisor or consultant-level resource
