Job Description

Overview

The Senior Safety Specialist at Compliance Management International is responsible for ensuring high safety standards in data center construction projects. This role involves mentoring staff, conducting safety observations, and leading safety initiatives while fostering a proactive safety culture within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Mentor, educate, and train staff on safety protocols and industry best practices
  • Foster a positive safety culture by engaging workers, supervisors, and management
  • Participate in safety meetings as required
  • Conduct on-site safety observations and provide recommendations for improved practices
  • Lead safety initiatives, including audits and job safety analyses
  • Facilitate site-specific orientations and training sessions
  • Generate and maintain safety reports as required by project management

Required skills

  • 5+ years of direct construction safety oversight
  • Experience with data center and mission critical facility safety
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Safety Standards
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessment
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Verbal and written communication skills for training and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar safety management software
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (within last 5 years)
  • NFPA 70E preferred
  • BCSP credentials (STS-C, CHST, CSP) preferred
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred
  • OSHA 510 or 500 certification preferred
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required
