Job Description

Overview

The Senior Property Accountant role at Beacon Hill Financial involves managing lease administration, CAM and tax recovery processes, and property accounting for a commercial real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and possess experience in commercial real estate accounting and lease administration.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage property accounting and lease administration activities, including CAM, tax, and recovery reconciliations.
  • Review tenant account adjustments, reconciliations, refunds, and billing transactions for accuracy.
  • Support preparation of quarterly tax accruals and CAM analysis.
  • Interpret lease agreements and provide guidance on billing and recoveries.
  • Oversee work of lease administrators and third-party partners to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, legal, collections, and property operations teams.
  • Prepare internal reporting and assist with audit requests and special projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for operational efficiency.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Real estate accounting experience, including CAM and tax recovery.
  • Prior leadership or management experience.
  • Strong lease interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Experience with property management systems such as JDE, Yardi, or MRI.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
