The Senior Project Engineer I role will manage all areas of projects including oversight and engineering design, procurement, and construction inspection. The Senior Project Engineer I will also lead and support a multi-discipline team through the development of designs for electrical power distribution systems, transportation systems, roadway lighting, intelligent transportation system (ITS), vehicle charging stations, pump stations, and fiber optic networks.The Senior Project Engineer I will play an active role in the development of plans, specifications, estimates and reports in support of projects for both vertical and horizontal infrastructure. The Senior Project Engineer I will report to the Lisle office or to a project site a minimum of three (3) days per week as required by the project or as directed by their manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate all technical aspects of a project including contract submission, designs, testing, and data collection and analysis. Advise and provide suggestions as applicableReview project plans and proposals and suggest updates or maintain changes as neededPerform complex technical assignments throughout assigned projects including construction layout, calculating and verifying engineering calculations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field testsResponsible for performing complex technical assignments throughout assigned projects including construction layout, calculating and verifying engineering calculations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field testsPrepare and distribute specifications and timeline of the project to both internal and external clientsProvide status reports of projects on timeline and budgetAllocate project resources appropriately and within the project budget and provide suggestions or adjustments as neededOversee work completed including external contractors and act as the point person for the projectPerform overall quality control of the work and regularly report on project statusInteract daily with the clients and propose project updates as neededMaintain project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulationsCooperate and communicate effectively with team members to provide assistance and supportPerform other duties as required/directed Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program7+ years' professional project experience with design and development of electrical power distribution, roadway lighting, ITS, or traffic signalsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to complete within first year of employmentAbility to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skillsAbility to work in multi-discipline engineering teams of civil and mechanical engineersStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management skills, works well in a fast-paced environment, and able to handle multiple tasks at a timeStrong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and decision making abilitiesKnowledgeable with rules, regulations, best practices, procedures, standard engineering techniques, and performance standardsExperience applying National Electrical Code to a wide variety of projects and designing electrical systems supporting infrastructure projectsProficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation design softwareKnowledge of and experie
