Job Description

Overview

The Senior Project Drafter at Metromont is responsible for designing and preparing accurate erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions for complex projects utilizing CAD software. This role emphasizes leadership by guiding a team of drafters and ensuring effective communication with engineers and project managers throughout the design process.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and prepare electronic (CAD) erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions from contract drawings and engineering calculations
  • Provide leadership and direction to project drafters
  • Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
  • Consult with engineers and project managers to resolve questions
  • Revise computer-aided designs and documents in accordance with project scope changes
  • Coordinate drafting work with engineers and architects
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Drafters
  • Review work of Project Drafters and report to the Drafting Manager

Required skills

  • Proficient in CAD software
  • Knowledge of Revit preferred
  • Minimum two years drafting experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Basic computation skills for design requirements
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills
