Overview

The Senior NDT Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in St. Louis is responsible for conducting non-destructive tests (NDT) and ensuring product acceptability according to defined standards. The role emphasizes a team-oriented environment, where the technician operates equipment, maintains compliance with safety regulations, and collaborates with other NDT technicians to prioritize workloads effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) and determine product acceptability following prescribed methods
  • Record, organize, and evaluate test results, entering them into applicable documents
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety rules, maintaining personal and public safety during testing
  • Maintain equipment and assure calibration for all tests performed
  • Control inventory of area equipment and assist other NDT technicians as needed
  • Provide technical assistance to subordinate NDT technicians
  • Perform exposure room safety checks and maintain radiation safety barriers
  • Conduct automated ultrasonic C-scan inspections of composite parts

Required skills

  • Level II certification in PT, ET, UT, and MT NDT methods
  • 4 years of NDT related experience
  • Ability to be certified in a third NAS 410 NDT method within 1 year
  • Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Proficiency in computer-based software
  • Essential personal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds
