Overview

The Senior National Commercial Title Underwriting Attorney will work in a hybrid role based in New York, offering expertise in underwriting complex commercial real estate transactions. This position involves providing guidance, risk assessment, and strategic support to internal teams and clients nationwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies
  • Apply underwriting standards to assess risk and ensure compliance
  • Guide internal teams on real estate settlement services and transaction structures
  • Develop and communicate underwriting guidelines and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful transaction execution
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Bar Admission in New York
  • 5+ years of experience in national title insurance underwriting or commercial real estate
  • Understanding of underwriting processes and real estate transactions
  • Ability to interpret and apply underwriting standards
  • Familiarity with real estate law and regulations
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • Collaborative mindset with a solution-oriented approach
