Overview

As a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering at Capital One, you'll lead an Agile team focused on deploying machine learning applications at scale. Your role encompasses designing, developing, and implementing ML solutions while collaborating cross-functionally. You will be responsible for overseeing ML model performance, ensuring high availability, and adhering to best practices in machine learning engineering.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver ML models that address real-world business problems.
  • Make infrastructure decisions based on ML modeling techniques.
  • Develop and validate ML models while automating tests and deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to enhance big data and ML applications.
  • Maintain and monitor models in production.
  • Leverage cloud-based technologies to optimize ML models at scale.
  • Construct data pipelines for ML models and apply CI/CD best practices.
  • Ensure code management practices minimize vulnerabilities and adhere to AI governance.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years designing data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years programming in Python, Scala, or Java
  • 3+ years building and optimizing ML systems
  • 2+ years leading teams in ML solutions
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • Experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow (preferred)
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
