Overview

As a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering at Capital One, you will be part of an Agile team focused on developing and deploying machine learning applications at scale. Your role will involve detailed technical design, high-level architecture, and ensuring the performance and availability of machine learning systems while collaborating with Product and Data Science teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models and components to address real-world business challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to enhance software for big data and ML applications
  • Write and test application code and validate ML models using current technologies
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for feeding ML models
  • Leverage cloud-based architectures for delivering ML models at scale
  • Monitor and maintain models in production, ensuring adherence to best practices in responsible AI
  • Utilize continuous integration and deployment methodologies to automate tests and deployment of models

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
  • At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • At least 3 years of experience in building and optimizing ML systems
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading teams developing ML solutions
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Ability to develop performance-oriented, resilient, and maintainable code
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong skills in data gathering and preparation for ML models
