Job Description

Overview

The Senior Manager of Legal Compliance and Privacy at Purolator will ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies with a strong focus on privacy and data protection. This role involves supporting regulatory compliance activities and collaborating with various departments to embed compliance into all aspects of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to the business as required
  • Research emerging legal and regulatory issues
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the compliance framework
  • Monitor changes in laws and assess business impact
  • Develop policies and procedures for compliance
  • Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and readiness
  • Manage the organization's privacy program
  • Act as a subject matter expert on privacy requirements
  • Oversee privacy impact assessments and vendor privacy reviews
  • Support incident response related to privacy breaches
  • Contribute to governance frameworks and internal controls
  • Design and maintain compliance and privacy training programs
  • Partner with internal teams to integrate training into learning platforms

Required skills

  • 10+ years of legal experience
  • Licensed to practice law in Canada
  • Privacy law accreditation
  • Excellent knowledge of compliance regulations
  • Experience with regulatory, privacy, administrative, and competition law
  • Ability to analyze regulations and propose solutions
  • Experience preparing and negotiating regulatory agreements
  • Team management and leadership skills
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • French speaking is an asset
