Overview

The Senior Litigation Paralegal will work in a hybrid role at a leading global law firm in Washington, DC, focusing on managing large, complex litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have significant trial preparation experience and a strong background in supporting trials and mentoring junior paralegals.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of litigation case management, including file management and discovery.
  • Utilize case calendaring systems for tracking filings and distributing information.
  • Coordinate and oversee tasks of junior paralegals on major litigation matters.
  • Liaise between attorneys and support staff to ensure quality paralegal services.
  • Interact with courts, agencies, and witnesses to gather information for trials.
  • Lead discovery and witness preparation efforts.
  • Draft, review, and analyze legal documents as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and provide guidance to junior paralegals.

Required skills

  • Five plus years of litigation paralegal experience in AmLaw 100 or specialized firms.
  • Recent trial experience and trial preparation.
  • Strong cite-checking skills and proficiency with Bluebook rules.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with court filings and e-filings.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery databases (e.g., Relativity, Nuix).
  • Familiarity with litigation support software (e.g., LiveNote, CaseMap).
  • Proficiency using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.
