Job Description

Overview

SSP Canada is looking for a Senior Line Cook to join their team at the Victoria International Airport. This role requires culinary skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will follow recipes, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the workspace.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow recipes, check portions, garnishes, and presentation of dishes
  • Prepare and set up the kitchen or work station for each shift
  • Handle, store, and rotate food products properly
  • Maintain equipment and kitchen cleanliness
  • Manage stock supply, cutting, and storage of perishable goods
  • Complete control sheets for opening, progress, and closing as requested
  • Maintain cleanliness of all utensils and work areas
  • Follow manager's instructions and take stock before leaving

Required skills

  • Minimum one year experience in food service environment
  • Ability to follow basic recipes
  • Experience using grill, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Food handlers permit as required by law
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance
