The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner, providing value-added legal advice and recommendations to support the company's leadership teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the company's strategies, programs, and initiatives comply with the law and in managing a wide range of legal issues, including business development, procurement, M&A, and commercial real estate. The Senior Legal Counsel will also be responsible for leading and managing a team, mentoring legal staff, and fostering a culture of continuous development and proactive change. Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company should hold an LL.B. or J.D. degree and be in good standing with a Canadian Law Society. A minimum of 10 years' of corporate commercial law experience is required, with a preference for those with a background in the mining, natural resources, or energy sectors.
