Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a key role in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. You will work with a cross-functional team to develop proprietary AI-powered products and optimize existing AI systems, leveraging a wide range of technologies and methodologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and evaluation
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and PyTorch
  • Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • At least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms
  • Strong programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
