Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will play a pivotal role in developing responsible AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. Collaborating with a cross-functional team, the engineer will design and deploy innovative AI-powered products that streamline operations and elevate customer interactions, leveraging a robust stack of AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage various Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for model training and inference.
  • Invent techniques to optimize large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience in designing, developing, and supporting complex AI systems.
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
