Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a critical role in developing responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance banking experiences. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products and drive AI engineering efforts that positively impact millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms
  • 6+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Ability to lead and mentor an engineering team
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs, and Guardrails
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
