Overview

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead AI Engineer for its GenAI Platform Services in New York. This role focuses on developing responsible AI systems to enhance customer interactions and streamline operations. As part of the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, the engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI software components and work with a cross-functional group to drive AI innovation within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters and PyTorch.
  • Invent optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the long term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics.
  • Ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing AI systems.
