Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One is responsible for creating reliable AI systems that transform banking experiences. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI-powered products, focusing on scalability and performance of AI systems while leveraging advanced technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent and introduce optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
